great companion

Why was this great companion called the ship of the servant of the Messenger of God (peace be upon him):

One time, during one of the raids of the Messenger of God (may God bless him and grant him peace), the Companions were carrying a lot of luggage, and the camels they owned were few, and the Companions were tired of carrying a lot of luggage, so the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped and ordered them to collect their luggage and pack it well.

He told this companion, nicknamed Safina, to carry that luggage and it would become a ship. With God’s permission, he carried it, with the permission of God Almighty, and his nickname became Safina. He used to say about that incident that if he had been carrying the load of two camels that day (that is, what two camels could carry), I would not have felt their weight.

Note: The meaning of the servant of the Messenger of God is the servant of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The story of the great companion, the ship of the servant of the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) with the lion:
One time, our Master boarded a boat or a ship in the sea, and God Almighty afflicted him by sinking the ship on which this honorable companion was riding. So this honorable companion was stuck on a plank of wood and continued to struggle with it from sinking until God Almighty was saved. He reached a shore overlooking a forest, and while this noble companion was He catches his breath and thanks God for surviving drowning.

When he began to inspect the place with a glance, he saw a predatory lion, and in an instant the lion began to approach this distinguished companion to attack him.

Then our master Safina looked at the lion and said to him, “Be on your messengers, O Abu al-Harith (one of the names of the lion), for I am Safina, the servant of the Messenger of God (may God bless him and grant him peace) and her companion.”

Then the lion’s rampage calmed down, his anger subsided, his roar decreased, he bowed his head, and our master pushed the ship as if to say, “Follow me,” and walked with him into the forest, as if protecting him, until the lion guided him to the beginning of the road outside the forest, and this distinguished companion heard the voice of the lion humming as if he was bidding farewell to this distinguished companion.

This is one of the dignity that God has bestowed upon the worship of believers, and this is the story of the great companion Safina, the servant of the Messenger of God (peace be upon him).
